Sunday 3rd August - Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition
The Royal Academy of Arts ((Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BD) is holding its annual Summer Exhibition of contemporary art. This year one of the exhibits will be a sculpture based on the Polish Parachute Brigade from the Second World War. TOPAZ will be meeting in the foyer to the left of the main entance at 2pm. Friday 25th July - Social Evening
The Association of Polish Students and Graduates in Great Britain (ZSAPWB) has invited TOPAZ to join them for a social evening at the Auberge, 6-8 St Christopher Place, London W1 1ND from 7.30pm onwards (nearest tubes - Baker Street or Bond Street). Nothing like an evening to unwind after a hard week's work and to meet new people.
9th - 13th July - ZSAPWB Holiday
The Association of Polish Students and Graduates in Great Britain (ZSAPWB) is inviting TOPAZ to their annual holiday in the Polish Scouts centre in Penrhos, North Wales. Further details are on the web site http://www.zsapwb.org.uk
Saturday 5 July - Karolinka Dance Performance
Karolinka is an internationally acclaimed Polish Folk Song and Dance Company. As part of the Big Dance Week, Karolinka will be performing at the Victoria Embankment Gardens (nearest Tube Embankment). We will meet from 1.30pm by the performance stage. On arrival there, look out for the TOPAZ photographer Brian, who can be recognised by a camera(s) round his neck and grey hair.

The Blue Anchor (13 Lower Mall, Hammersmith, W6 9DJ - nearest tubes Hammersmith and Ravenscourt Park) from 7.30pm onwards. This will be the last meeting of this series.
Saturday 28 June - TOPAZ Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting and election of the new committee will take place in POSK at 5pm in the Sala Brydżowa (4th floor opposite the entrance to POSKLUB). Afterwards, we will be going for a meal.
Sunday 8 June - Polish Festival in Bletchley Park
This is a celebration of the contribution made by the Polish Mathematicians to the breaking of the Enigma codes. Also many interesting attractions and exhibitions, stands of Polish organisations and Polish cuisine.
We will be setting out by cars at 9.30AM from POSK to be there by 11AM. If you wish to come and have space in the car or need a lift, please email TOPAZ (topazklub@hotmail.com) by Saturday evening at the latest, so we can allocate transport. Information about the museums in Bletchley Park is found on www.bletchleypark.org.uk. (Entrance is £8.50 purchased in advance over the internet or £10.00 at the door as stated on the Museum Web Site).

Why not join us again by the cool Thames at the Blue Anchor pub(13 Lower Mall, Hammersmith, W6 9DJ - nearest tubes Hammersmith and Ravenscourt Park) from 7.30pm onwards. This is an occassion to meet new people and socialise after a hard week's work, while relaxing in the warm summer evening.
Sunday 18 May - Walk in the Amersham Area.
TOPAZ will be going for a walk in the Amersham area. Amersham is located outside London in the picturesque Chiltern Hills, still easily reachable by the London UndergrounD, Metropolitan Line. We will be meeting at Amersham Station between 11 and 11.30am by the main station entrance, from where we will do an approximately 5 mile walk. We may visit the local museum in the Old Town (entrance is £2 - more on http://www.amersham.org.uk). Please bring appropriate clothing for the day and walking boots in case it is muddy. Sunday 27 April - Visit to Tate Modern
TOPAZ will be visiting the Tate Modern. There are a number of exhibitions, including one about Polish films (further information - www.tate.org.uk). We shall be meeting by the ticket office at 2.00 p.m. After the exhibition, there is a possibility to see the film by Andrzej Wajda - Katyń at the Prince Charles Cinema (7 Leicester Place, WC2H 7BY ) at 6pm. As an alternative we may go to the nearby Polish Baltic Restaurant for drinks and snacks. Please let TOPAZ know you are coming by emailing topazklub@hotmail.com.

TOPAZ invites you to a Spring Zabawa in the Jazz Café (POSK, 238-246 King Street, Hammersmith W6 0RF), from 8pm till midnight. Live music by the Kopi Katz, playing Polish, English and international songs from the 50s to the 90s to listen and dance to.

Sunday 9 March - Walk
Why not join us for a brisk walk at the Devils Punch Bowl, nr. Haslemere, Surrey. The Bowl is an unusual large hollow of dry sandy heath to the west of Hindhead and is owned by the National Trust. It is overlooked by the 894ft high Gibbet Hill, which is the second highest hill in Surrey. Thursday 6 March - New Members Evening (Meeting with Wiktor Moszczynski)
The TOPAZ New Members’ meeting will now take place on Thursday 6th March at 7.30pm in POSKlub (4th Floor, POSK, 238-246 King Street, Hammersmith, W6 0RF), where we have invited the former Ealing Labour Councillor Wiktor Moszczynski to meet with us and discuss Polish Community and immigration issues. Wiktor has been involved in Polish community affairs for many years, and is currently research officer for the Federation of Poles in Great Britain (ZPWB).
